Great to meet you!

I am an LCSW-R practicing in New York State. I have been working in human services and mental health for over 20 years with individuals ages 4 to 99 and in various different environments. Some of my personal and clinical experience has come from my work in prevention, clinical mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, criminal justice, homecare, public school, and in my local emergency room crisis center in addition to, working through my own scars and struggles. I am just a real person who happens to have a gift of helping others.

Some of my strengths are being present with individuals, providing helpful and honest clinical feedback, assiting others in developing proactive, concrete, and helpful tools to practice when needed, and my ability to recognize a person's worry or concern is no smaller than the next person's. I keep updated on my clinical skills through trainings, working next to brilliant professionals, and am always eager to learn new and updated information.

My approach to therapy

My approach is meeting individuals where they are at now and where they want to be in the future. I assess baseline functioning in order to see if the individual is making progress and I provide practical, hands on tools individuals can use to improve their internal or external response to challenges.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will develop goals you have and talk about ways you can measure those goals to ensure you are moving in the right direction. This is also a time for you to interview the therapist to make sure they are a good fit for your needs. If you tell a provider you do not think it is a good fit, they should respond with praise for your honesty. I want you to feel comfortable above all else.
