Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with 29 years of experience providing compassionate, client-centered therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns, providing both ongoing therapy and crisis and emergency services. I also have extensive experience with case coordination and helping clients navigate complex life circumstances and connect with appropriate resources. I have also gained life experiences from raising children with mental health concerns and can empathize and offer resources without taking away from your support.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person’s individual needs, strengths, and goals. I incorporate talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and art therapy to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools for coping and emotional regulation. I believe therapy should provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be heard, understood, and supported.

I have experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, anger management, difficulties with coping and emotional regulation, and the challenges that can arise during major life transitions or stressful circumstances.

I hold a Master of Science in Art Therapy and bring both clinical experience and creative approaches to my work. Whether you are struggling with a specific mental health concern or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward, I would be honored to help you find greater balance, understanding, and confidence in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe that effective therapy begins with feeling safe, heard, and accepted without judgment. I take the time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals, and I work alongside you to develop strategies that feel realistic and meaningful for your life.

I use a combination of talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and art therapy, adapting my approach based on your needs and preferences. Art therapy can provide an additional way to explore and express thoughts and emotions when words may not feel sufficient, while CBT can help identify patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to emotional distress.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, anger management, emotional regulation, coping with stress and life transitions, and general difficulties managing overwhelming emotions. I also have extensive experience working with individuals during times of crisis and have provided both ongoing therapy and crisis and emergency services.

With 29 years of clinical experience, my goal is to help you develop greater self-understanding, practical coping skills, emotional regulation, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges. Therapy is not about having all the answers—it is about having a supportive partner as you work toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin creating a plan that is tailored to you. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you would like to accomplish, and what meaningful progress would look like for you.

Together, we will identify individualized, measurable, and realistic goals so you can recognize your progress and build confidence along the way. Your treatment plan is not set in stone. Life changes, circumstances shift, and your needs may change as well, so we can adjust your goals and approach whenever needed.

We will also discuss coping strategies and develop a safety plan so that you have a clear understanding of what to do and where to turn if a crisis or difficult situation arises. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of direction for moving forward.
