Great to meet you!

My name is Julie, I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation specializing in working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2011 and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Walden University.

My approach to therapy

I believe that in addition to a strong trusting relationship with a therapist that when you see a small difference in your life immediately after entering therapy you are much more likely to find success in therapy. Using an eclectic approach that emphasizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I seek to provide individualized treatment to help meet clients where they are and guide them to an attainable goal.

What you can expect from me

Part of seeing a difference is collecting data through consistent assessment. Questionnaires and mood logs are just two of the ways that I might engage someone in the therapeutic process. When we look at this data together in session it not only guides our treatment and goals, but helps the client to see what's improving. I always aim to find ways of doing this flexibly and in a way that is going to be attainable for the client (e.g., apps, paper, fillable pdf's, etc.)
