Great to meet you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Nevada. I graduated with my Master of Science in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling in 2009 and hold three degrees in the field of counseling/psychology. I am within several classes of achieving a second Master's degree in the field of substance abuse treatment. I have additional formal and practical training in the areas of trauma informed care, impulse control/anger management, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral modification strategies. I have worked with a wide variety of populations including co-occurring disorders (substance and mental health), at risk youth, and various other adult high risk/high need populations in both intensive inpatient and outpatient settings. Throughout my years of experience, I have worked at length with the majority of DSM V diagnosed disorders.

My approach to therapy

As a general statement, my role is to listen with curiosity and offer support while my clients discover their own internal truths and how to advocate for their highest good while accepting life on life's terms. While I tend to practice from cognitive based perspectives, the manner in which I carry out this supportive role largely depends on the uniqueness of my client and his/her individual goals.

What you can expect from me

The first session allows us the opportunity to get to know one another. Opening up to a stranger doesn't always come naturally, so it's important we both believe the fit will be beneficial and therapeutic. I welcome questions and encourage open, honest communication and collaboration to create a starting point that both honors what you're currently comfortable with and respects what you'd like to achieve.
