Great to meet you!

Greetings! I’m Julie, and I am glad you found your way here. I you are carrying anxiety that will not quiet, grief that will not soften, or a season of life that has left you unsure of what comes next, you do not have to sort through it alone. I have spent eight years working alongside people navigating some of the hardest moments life offers, including time in psychiatric settings and with individuals in the justice system, places where I saw how much strength people carry even when they feel like they have none. Before that, I spent sixteen years as a music teacher, which taught me to meet each person at their own pace. My approach is person-centered and solution-focused: we start from where you are, and we work toward where you want to go. I am glad to work with adolescents and adults. Please reach out if you are ready to take those first steps together.

My approach to therapy

Your world view shapes everything we do together, which is why I start where you are rather than where any theory says you should be. I also work as a solution-focused therapist: grounded in the belief that you carry the answers within yourself already. I am here to help you find them. We will begin from where you are and work together with respect for your perspective and goals. I believe you often carry important answers within yourself, and I am here to help you discover them, build on your strengths, and move toward healing in a way that feels meaningful to you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want to hear your story: where things feel stuck, how long things have felt this way, and what you hope might shift. We will not rush toward solutions. By the end of that first hour, most clients feel a little lighter for having said something out loud and more clear about what direction makes sense. You do not need to have it figured out to start.
