Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Julie Sherman, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is warm and straightforward. I focus on creating a space where you feel heard and supported as you work toward the changes you're looking for. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and my Masters of Education and Education Specialist Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida.

My approach to therapy

In our sessions, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space built on careful listening and empathy. I understand that everyone's situation is different, so I tailor my approach to fit your specific needs and goals. I draw from different therapeutic methods—including cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques—to find what works best for you. We'll work together to develop practical coping strategies and skills that help you make real, positive changes in your life.

Clients often describe my style as down-to-earth, communicative, and insightful. I'm genuinely invested in helping you make meaningful changes in your life.

What you can expect from me

The first time we meet is really about getting to know you. I'll ask about what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping to achieve, and a bit about your background. You don't need to share everything at once—we'll move at whatever pace feels right for you.

I work to make our time together feel comfortable and free from judgment. My goal is for you to feel safe enough to be yourself and share openly when you're ready.

By the time we wrap up, we'll have a better sense of where we're headed, goals for therapy and what our next steps might look like.
