Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm glad you're here. Reaching out for therapy takes courage, and I don't take that lightly.

I'm a therapist who believes people are more capable than they give themselves credit for. My job is to help you see the strengths you already have and put them to work. I'll be warm with you, and I'll also be honest with you. Most people tell me that combination is what they were looking for.

Outside of session, my life is pretty full. I work out because it keeps my head clear, I almost always have a book going, and I volunteer at my church. My kids are college athletes, so a lot of our weekends are spent on the road watching them compete. When I get a real break, you'll find me at the beach. I mention all of this because I know what it's like to juggle a lot, and I'm not going to hand you advice that only works in a perfect week.

My approach to therapy

I work in a practical, collaborative way. We'll spend time understanding what's happening, and then we'll get to work on what actually helps.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to look at the thoughts and patterns that keep you stuck, and behavioral strategies to build momentum in small, doable steps. For clients carrying trauma or PTSD, I use Trauma Focused CBT, and we move at a pace you set. I also lean on Problem-Solving Therapy when life feels like too many decisions at once, and a strength-based lens throughout, because noticing what's already working is often the fastest path forward.

I specialize in PTSD, depression, and family issues, and I also work with anxiety, panic, OCD, trauma, grief, anger and impulse control, stress, ADHD, women's issues, and maternal mental health including the pre and postpartum season.

You won't get silence from me. Expect a real conversation, honest feedback, and a clear sense of what we're working toward.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know you. I'll ask what brought you in, what's been hardest lately, and what you've already tried. There's no pressure to tell the whole story at once. You share what you're ready to share. I'll also ask some background questions about your history, your family, your health, and what support you have around you. Then we'll talk about what you want to be different, and I'll be direct with you about how I think we can get there.

By the end, you'll have a sense of what working together looks like, and we'll set a starting point. You don't have to arrive organized or with the right words. Just show up.
