Juliet Walters

I've dedicated my entire career working with resilient people ready to heal and restore their lives. I'm certified in modalities focused on building healthy relationships, changing thought patterns, and achieving my clients stated desires. I tailor my work to help people in their systems because we don't exist in a vacuum, but with people in many contexts.

I am Caribbean born, from Trinidad and Tobago. I have lived in (Brooklyn) NY, MS, NC and Texas. I also lived for about nine months in LA. I have a MMFT degree from Abilene Christian University and a BSW from Syracuse University. I am a LMFT supervisor. I like traveling and have been to 15 countries, with more to visit. I also work part time at my church as a LMFT-S.

As a Christ believer I work with clients who want to apply their faith in treatment and/or heal from religious wounds. I provide supervision and internships to emerging MFTs, especially those wanting faith-based experiences.

I help couples in their intimate relationships that they want to strengthen, transform, and save. I work with couples where one or both partners suffer from unhealed wounds and are ready to move from hurt and fear to freedom and peace. This can be from trauma that keeps them from showing up authentically in relationships. It can be from the pressure of being a church, community or business leader who feels they must save face or suffer in silence. It could also be those constantly struggling through systemic and generational trauma, anxiety or depression. I also work with individuals wanting vibrant and successful relationships.

I am a compassionate therapist who provides a non-judgmental and safe space where you feel heard and valued. I will listen, provide feedback and work with you on an effective treatment plan to achieve your goals. The focus will always be to support your healing, while guiding you to reclaim your strength and power.

My clients can expect to take away new insights, shifts in their perspectives from self defeating to empowered, and opportunities to practice new ways of being both in session and out is session. One client wrote me and said, “thank you for showing me what it means TO LOVE...and TO BE LOVED with truth.”

Clients can expect to be gently challenged about applying ineffective relational responses. My clients will leave the sessions with clarity about their identity and self worth. A client who had a history of suicidal behaviors decided they no longer was the person who used suicide to cope. That shift in their identity helped them maintain safety for the past two years.
