Great to meet you!

Family systems approach, integration of presenting issues with history how these issues have previously been conceptualized, with an optimistic plans, action and communication to expand ones options of coping differently and taking risk of new behavior, and expanding experiences. Patients have introduced me a multiple of creative and positive thoughts.

My approach to therapy

I over 40 years of licensed clinical experience in guiding individuals and families towards changing communication patterns and styles, including identifying META messages such as double binds (damn if you do damned if you don't). These decades of learning grounds me in exploring problematic patterns that help shap our lives. Healing and change begins revealing the deeper interactional patterns and life history of one's pain, heart aches, the fear of the unknown and compassion for their suffering. During my career I was the clinical director of a large outpatient substance abuse program in Gainesville Florida, taught graduate classes provided supervision of graduation mental health internships, provided training and supervision to a variety of individual and group mental health organizations.

What you can expect from me

I will use my curious nature to explore the history and nature of their presenting issues. This will include any previous therapy or other attempts to bring about resolution. As a directive therapist I accept the responsibility of creating an accepting environment designed to create change
