Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker working with adolescents (13+) and adults. Much of my work has involved trauma and stress-related issues, including PTSD, along with concerns like anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and burnout. My background includes community mental health and a nontraditional path into this field, including my own experience with addiction and depression, which shapes how I understand the work. I tend to work best with people who are ready to take an honest look at their situation and put effort into making meaningful change. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am comfortable integrating a Christian, faith-based perspective into therapy for those who want it, while fully supporting those who prefer a more secular approach

My approach to therapy

My approach is to meet you where you are and help you move forward in a way that actually works. I start by listening and understanding what’s going on, then adjust as needed—sometimes that means support and encouragement, and other times more direct feedback. Much of my work is grounded in CBT and CPT, with other approaches used when they fit the situation rather than forcing a single model. I tend to be more of a “scalpel” than a “sledgehammer,” taking time to understand the problem before trying to fix it. The goal is not just insight, but helping you make changes that carry over into your day-to-day life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is meant to feel more like a conversation than an evaluation, starting with a simple “What brings you in?” and going from there. I’ll follow your lead while also asking questions to understand not just what’s happening, but how you think and what may be keeping you stuck. By the end, I’ll share my initial thoughts and how we might move forward. My goal is for you to leave this first session feeling heard, understood, and like you’re talking to someone who cares. I’ll bring my best to the process, but real change happens outside of session, and what you do with that time matters. You won’t be judged or pushed into anything you’re not ready for. My role is to help you move forward in a way that feels a little challenging but manageable, and never forced.
