Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Kafayat Oluwole (Dr. Kaffy). If anxiety, low mood, difficulty focusing, or life changes have left you feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and explore your next steps. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I work with adolescents and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment concerns, including healthcare professionals managing work stress. I offer psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, and medication management, with care that respects your background, priorities, and goals. My aim is to help you feel heard and comfortable asking questions as we work together.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-oriented. My background in bedside and psychiatric nursing informs my attention to both your emotional and physical well-being. I take time to understand your concerns, cultural background, daily challenges, and goals.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you recognize unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, Behavioral Activation to help you rebuild meaningful routines, and Problem-Solving Therapy to break overwhelming challenges into manageable steps. In sessions, we identify priorities, practice relevant skills, and discuss ways to apply them between visits. When medication is appropriate, I explain the options, potential benefits, and side effects so we can make informed decisions together. We review your progress and adjust the plan as your needs change.

What you can expect from me

Our first appointment will be an individual telehealth visit by video. Please join from a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking. Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what matters most to you. It’s okay to feel nervous or unsure where to begin; I’ll help guide the conversation, and you’re welcome to ask questions or request a pause.

I’ll listen to your concerns and ask about your health history, previous treatment, and how things have been affecting your daily life. Together, we’ll explore your goals and discuss options, which may include therapy, medication, or a combination of both, depending on your needs. We’ll finish by agreeing on initial next steps and a follow-up plan. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and clearer about the path ahead.
