Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) providing telehealth therapy to adults throughout Texas. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman's University and have more than seven years of experience working in behavioral health across inpatient, crisis stabilization, and outpatient settings. Prior to opening Let the Body Speak, LLC, I served in clinical leadership roles overseeing treatment services, therapist development, and program quality initiatives.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation, addiction, and women's mental health concerns. I also support clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, chronic stress, life transitions, and challenges related to identity and self-worth. Many of the individuals I work with are insightful, capable people who feel stuck despite previous therapy experiences and are looking for deeper, lasting change.

My professional experience includes working with complex and high-acuity mental health concerns, including trauma-related disorders, self-harm histories, suicidal ideation, and co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns. I am passionate about helping clients better understand themselves, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding, exploring nature, working on home projects, and walking my dog. I value authenticity, curiosity, and continued growth, and I strive to bring those qualities into my work with clients.

Seeking support can feel vulnerable, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you feel understood, empowered, and able to move toward the life you want to build.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed and integrative. I draw from evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), parts-based work, and attachment-focused frameworks. I also incorporate mind-body and nervous system-informed perspectives, recognizing that trauma, stress, and emotional patterns are held not only in our thoughts, but also in our bodies and relationships. Therapy with me is collaborative — we work together to understand what you’re experiencing, why certain patterns may have developed, and how to build skills and insight that support meaningful change. As a therapist, I balance compassion with clarity. I believe in validating your experience while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you understand yourself more fully, develop practical tools, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and worth living. Therapy is not about perfection — it’s about building awareness, resilience, and trust in yourself over time.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting oriented, not getting everything “right.” My priority is helping you feel safe, heard, and respected as we begin working together. You don’t need to prepare anything special or know exactly what to say — we’ll move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

We’ll spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you have about starting this process. I may ask questions about your current stressors, your emotional and relational history, and what has or hasn’t been helpful in the past. You are always in control of what you choose to share, and it’s okay to say when something feels too much or when you’re unsure how to put something into words.

I’ll also explain how I work as a therapist, including what therapy with me typically looks like, how we collaborate, and how confidentiality and boundaries are handled. This is a chance for you to ask questions and get a sense of whether my style feels like a good fit for you.

Depending on your needs, we may begin identifying patterns, strengths, or coping strategies right away, or we may simply focus on stabilizing and understanding what you’re experiencing in the present. There is no pressure to “go deep” in the first session unless you want to. Therapy is a process, and the first session is just the beginning of building trust and clarity together.

By the end of the session, my goal is that you leave feeling a bit more grounded, with a clearer understanding of next steps and what support can look like moving forward — even if the work itself unfolds gradually over time.
