Great to meet you!

Healing happens through connection, and that is what I am here to offer. I am Kaliyah Hughes, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctorate in Professional Counseling and deep roots in community mental health, crisis support, and psychiatric care. I work with adults, children, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, and more. Whether you are facing something acute or working toward your next chapter, I bring both clinical expertise and genuine care to every session. I would love to walk beside you.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing happens through connection, compassion, and authenticity. I am not only here to listen, but to walk beside you and guide you toward wholeness, purpose, and self-actualization. Grounded in a humanistic and strengths-based foundation, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Solution-Focused approaches to help clients create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

During your first session with me, you can expect a safe, compassionate space where you are heard, respected, and supported. Our time together will focus on getting to know you: what brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and how I can best support your growth and healing. We will move at your pace as we explore your background, current challenges, and personal strengths. I’ll share a bit about my integrative approach. My goal is not only to listen but to walk beside you as we create a plan tailored to your unique needs. By the end of our session, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your goals, a sense of direction, and the reassurance that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
