Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kami Land, LPC-AT, LCDC, ATR-BC. I hold a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I actually wanted to be an art therapist long before I became a teacher — life asked me to be patient, and I spent over 15 years as an educator before finally returning to the work I'd always wanted to do.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with an Art Therapy Specialty Recognition and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, which means I bring both full clinical training and specialized skill in using creative expression as part of the work. I'm also a Chickasaw descendant, and that heritage shapes how I think about identity, lineage, and healing across generations.

I work with teens, adults, and partners navigating trauma, grief, anxiety and depression, guilt and self-criticism, addiction recovery, major life transitions, and communication struggles in relationships and families.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing shouldn't have a hierarchy — I don't lead from ahead of my clients, I walk beside them. You hold the direction; I offer a specialized set of clinical and creative tools to help clear away what's in your way. Some sessions are entirely conversation. Others include a creative prompt or art-making, since some things are easier to work through with your hands than to say out loud. There's no fixed formula — we follow whatever helps you process what's real for you that day.

I meet clients where they are, honor where they've been, and hold space for where they're going. For those who welcome it, I also integrate a quiet layer of intuitive and spiritual depth into the work.

What you can expect from me

Our first conversation is a free 15-minute consultation — low-pressure, just a chance to ask questions and see if we're a good fit, with no commitment required. If we move forward, your first full session is about getting to know your story: what brought you here, what you're hoping will be different, and what's worked or hasn't worked for you before.

I'll walk you through confidentiality and what I am and am not legally required to report, so there are no surprises later. From there, we build a plan together — you set the pace, and I stay steady alongside you. Sessions happen entirely online, so you can do this work from wherever you feel most comfortable, anywhere in Texas.
