Great to meet you!

When anxiety or depression has been part of your life for a while, you may become so used to pushing through that you do not realize how much energy it is taking from you. You might feel overwhelmed by stress, find yourself reacting with anger more often than you would like, or notice that difficult experiences from your past are still affecting how you feel today. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and stress management. These concerns can also overlap with anger, grief or loss, PTSD, or difficulty navigating important relationships, especially when several challenges begin affecting your emotional wellbeing at the same time. With 15 years of experience, I believe therapy should give you a place to feel understood while also helping you create meaningful change. Together, we can understand what has been weighing on you, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work toward feeling more grounded, connected, and confident in your life.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both what you are experiencing today and the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences that have shaped how you got here. We’ll explore how anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and stress may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you respond to yourself and others. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and practice healthier ways of responding, Psychodynamic Therapy to explore how earlier experiences and relationships may still influence you today, and Motivational Interviewing to help you explore change without pressure while strengthening your own reasons for moving forward. Interpersonal Psychotherapy can help us understand and improve relationship patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress, while Exposure Therapy can help you gradually face fears or situations you have been avoiding so they have less control over your life. Our sessions will be collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your needs, balancing deeper understanding with practical tools you can use outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

You do not need to know exactly what needs to change before we begin. During our first few sessions, we will spend time understanding what has brought you to therapy, what has been most difficult lately, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to start. You can expect me to listen with warmth and curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, and create a space where you can speak honestly about difficult emotions or experiences without judgment. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, managing stress more effectively, building healthier relationships, or processing painful experiences so they have less influence over your present. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work based on what is helping you most. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
