Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kara thanks for taking the time to check out my profile. As a therapist who has been in the field for almost a decade and a person who has also gone to therapy themselves, I know how scary it can be to take that first step. At the same time think of all you could gain better relationships, more life satisfaction, healthy boundaries, good communication skills, resiliency etc. I currently work with all ages and am inclusive, trauma informed, and collaborative. I feel that as the client you are the expert of yourself and focus on teaching you to be your own therapist.

I have been a therapist since 2018 and have experience in the following skills: Trauma-Informed Care, TF-CBT, LGBTQ+ Supportive Therapy, Inclusive & Affirming Practice, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Child and Adolescent Therapy, and Adult Therapy.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's okay to take your time in deciding if I’m the right fit for you. Whether you're looking for support with a specific challenge or simply need a safe, non-judgmental space to talk, I’m here to help. My approach is all about meeting you where you are, with patience, compassion, and understanding.

My approach to therapy

I am a licensed therapist with 13 years of experience specializing in trauma-informed care. My work emphasizes small, achievable changes which, with time and hard work, can become self-actualization and inner strength. A key part of my work is helping clients change their inner voice from critical and confusing to logical and empathetic.

What you can expect from me

During our first session I will take the time to get to know you and build a strong therapeutic rapport. I understand that therapy can be scary and will take the session at your pace. I believe it is your therapy not mine. We will also take time to formulate a goal and/or treatment plan created by you.

I take a collaborative approach in therapy, viewing you as the expert of your own life. During our initial session, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a safe and supportive space, Together, we will work toward goals that you identify at a pace that is comfortable for you.
