Great to meet you!

Karen Bardavid is a marriage and family therapist, certified trauma therapist and art therapist. She also has a certificate in substance use disorders.

My approach to therapy

I practice from a trauma-informed, strengths-based perspective, utilizing integrative techniques which include CBT, mindfulness practices, somatic approaches, psychodynamic, internal family systems and art therapy. I tailor treatment to best suit your needs. I understand how hard it can be to make the decision to work through difficulties. My goal is to help clients develop insight into their thinking and behavioral patterns by exploring the root causes of their anxiety, depression, or trauma and identify the underlying issues contributing to their distress. This process of self-discovery can be challenging, but it is also incredibly empowering.

What you can expect from me

Therapy is about processing past experiences, learning to better tolerate what feels unbearable and finding new ways to see ourselves and others.
