Karen Bennett

I am Dr. Karen Webb Bennett, PhD, MSN, PMHNP, with more than 15 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns.

My education includes a PhD in Human Ecology and Public Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a Master of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from East Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My additional background in nutrition and public health supports a whole-person perspective on mental wellness.

I take a thorough, collaborative, and person-centered approach to care. I begin by learning about each client’s symptoms, health history, daily life, strengths, and goals. Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, education, lifestyle considerations, and coordination with other members of the care team when appropriate.

I strive to create a respectful, supportive environment where clients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in decisions about their care.

Your first session will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to treatment. We will discuss your current concerns, psychiatric and medical history, past treatments, medications, and personal goals.

You can expect a thoughtful, judgment-free conversation and time to ask questions. By the end of the visit, we will work toward a clear understanding of your needs and develop initial next steps for your care.
