Great to meet you!

I received my Master of Social Work degree late in life after most of my children were out of the home. I also have a psychology and religion undergrad degree. I am trained in the use of EMDR, which is helpful for healing and reprocessing the difficult impact of our experiences. I enjoy working with women who are seeking a compassionate therapist who understands what it is like to experience the many difficulties of life.

My approach to therapy

I offer a variety of approaches in therapy sessions; EMDR, learning about triggers and coping strategies, boundaries, improving relationships, improving self-compassion, managing workplace stress. There are many options depending on what a client's needs are. Therapy is a fluid partnership, and it works best when both parties are open to exploring any adjustments that might be needed. It can be very intimidating to be engaged in therapy, so I offer safe space to explore and discuss difficult things openly.

What you can expect from me

As mentioned above, creating safe space for sharing is a priority. We will explore your needs and goals and devise a plan to start with. Later, we may need to make changes, but we will have a good start.
