Great to meet you!

I am an LPC in a small town in Texas. I attended Texas Tech for my undergraduate work and Hardin-Simmons for graduate school. I changed careers from teaching school to counseling about 5 years ago. I enjoy getting to know people and their situations and that through working together, we can come up with solutions that help them have the life they envision. I love witnessing personal growth and helping others achieve their goals.

My approach to therapy

I have had experience working in a treatment center setting with the primary focus on addictions. I have experience treating substance addictions such as alcohol and eating disorders as well as process addictions, such as love addiction and gambling. I see addictions as maladaptive coping mechanisms that may have once protected you, but no longer serve you. I believe we have to get to the root of the issues, then develop tools to deal with shame, anger, anxiety, and grief.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect me to actively listen and collaborate with them on solutions to their issues. Therapy doesn't have to be for times of crisis. There are benefits to having an outside perspective and the space to download and process things related to job, family, and relationships.
