Great to meet you!

I’m Karen Moore, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Social Worker with more than 25 years of combined experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through healing, growth, and meaningful change. My work blends decades of social‐work practice with clinical counseling expertise, giving me a deep understanding of how life experiences, relationships, and environments shape emotional wellness.

My approach is warm, affirming, and empowering. I create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment—and explore the patterns, emotions, and experiences that matter most. I specialize in trauma‐informed care and use evidence‐based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma‐Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem‐Solving Therapy. Together, we’ll build practical tools that help you navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life transitions with greater clarity and confidence.

In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding your story, identifying your strengths, and clarifying your goals. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, insight, and strategies that help you feel grounded, capable, and connected to your own resilience.

If you’re looking for a therapist who brings compassion, experience, and a steady presence to the work, I’d be honored to support you on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, empowering, and affirming. I integrate evidence‐based practices—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma‐Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem‐Solving Therapy—to help clients understand their patterns, heal from past experiences, and build practical tools for daily life. I also incorporate family‐based approaches when helpful, such as Family Therapy, Psychoeducational Family Therapy, and Parent Management Training, to strengthen relationships and support long‐term growth.

Across all sessions, I focus on creating a safe, collaborative environment where clients feel seen, supported, and encouraged to move toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where you can speak freely and feel genuinely heard. I take time to understand what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to change or strengthen, and what support feels most meaningful to you right now. We’ll explore your story at a pace that feels comfortable, identify your immediate needs, and begin clarifying your goals for treatment.

I’ll also share how I work—blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Trauma‐Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem‐Solving Therapy—so you know exactly what to expect moving forward. My approach is collaborative and empowering, and I want you to leave the first session feeling grounded, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
