Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Karen Palm, MSN, PMHNP-BC. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over six years of experience working in inpatient psychiatric settings throughout San Diego before becoming a PMHNP. I’ve worked with both adults and children experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges in crisis and long-term care settings.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time clients. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, stress, and other mental health challenges. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that supports your emotional well-being, daily functioning, and long-term growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe mental health care works best when clients feel actively involved in their treatment and supported as a whole person. I focus on building trust, creating realistic goals, and tailoring care to each client’s unique needs and experiences.

Treatment may include medication management, education, coping skills, and practical lifestyle strategies to support emotional wellness and long-term stability. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, informed, and supported throughout their care.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a supportive, judgment-free conversation focused on understanding your concerns, symptoms, personal history, and treatment goals. We’ll also discuss any questions you may have about the treatment process and what support may look like moving forward.

My goal is for you to leave the session feeling comfortable, informed, and confident that you have a safe and supportive space moving forward.
