Great to meet you!

Many of my clients struggle with relationship issues stemming from early childhood trauma; this results in coping mechanisms that work, but may carry a big price tag. They may grapple with sexual abuse, partner violence, sexual orientation and/ or disability related issues. These may manifest as substance abuse, cutting, communication problems or self- isolating behaviors. Their friends and family members may not truly "see" them. They need to establish safety, structure and hope.

My approach to therapy

I provide psychodynamic therapy in addition to CBT and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Each person is unique; sometimes validation, mirroring, structure and support is all that's needed; at other times specific traumatic incidents need to be processed.

What you can expect from me

I do not believe in the old adage, "no pain, no gain;" therapy is supposed to make us feel better! I know it can be difficult to ask for help, especially in a culture that rewards individualism. It may seem selfish, or weak, to take time for yourself in this way. That said, the potential benefits to yourself and your significant others are great, and at this "down time" in our collective history, there may be no better moment than this.
