Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Karen Romero, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practical support. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. I also help individuals navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, IVF, pregnancy after loss, and the emotional impact of reproductive health challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based therapies to help you build insight, coping skills, and confidence. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself, so I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy, tailoring treatment to your individual needs and goals. I do not act as the only expert in the room. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationship challenges, and fertility-related stress. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals and navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, IVF, pregnancy after loss, and the emotional impact of reproductive health challenges. Together, we will identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build effective coping strategies, and work toward creating meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve, all while trying to get to know you as a person. I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable sharing at your own pace.

Together, we’ll begin identifying areas of focus and develop a plan that feels realistic and meaningful to you. My clients often leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of direction for the work we will do together.
