Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Karen! I'm a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 10 years experience working in various mental health settings. I enjoy working with women who are ready to rise above depression, anxiety, relationship stress, and traumatic experiences. I specialize in helping women from first-generation and immigrant backgrounds honor their culture and uplift their individuality. As a Spanish-speaking eldest daughter of immigrants, I understand the unique responsibilities placed on us. I am committed to helping you reclaim your identity in a way that is also culturally sensitive.

My approach to therapy

I focus on helping you learn acceptance, mindfulness and stress reduction techniques, as well as cognitive behavioral skills that will allow you to live more authentically in your relationships with others. I believe that if you are able to care for yourself, you can confidently thrive in your relationships and communities. You are the ultimate expert of your life. I am dedicated to helping you understand yourself more deeply, regardless of what you've been through.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect us to discuss the target areas for our work together. Through honesty, trust, humor, and collaboration, I create a safe space for you to discuss the ways in which you would like to grow through therapy. I take a holistic approach to treatment, and look forward to learning about all the aspects of your life that make you unique!
