Do you appear to have it all together but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected on the inside? Many of my clients are insightful, capable, and successful yet find themselves repeating cycles of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or resentment. Self-awareness alone is often not enough for lasting change. I use Brainspotting, along with other therapies, as a neurobiological approach to process trauma, chronic stress, and difficult life experiences stored in the nervous system. Together we work to regulate, build emotional safety, and move toward a grounded, mindful, and connected life.
My motto for clients is to "keep it light". Let's find the controllables, take control, and "release in peace" those things, people, and emotions, that no longer serve us. My professional therapeutic techniques include brainspotting, internal family systems, CBT, Mindfulness, and Solutions-focused therapies. On a humanistic level, I incorporate history, and systems theories to assess and address possible systemic impacts that can and do influence the sense of self and how we show up in the world. On a more personal level, I bring some humor to keep up with my motto I encourage my clients to adapt and that is to "keep it light". My favorite way to do that is to incorporate a random but often a known verses in rap, R&B, pop, or baladas in session.
To feel lighter emotionally, to release in peace emotions tied to shitty memories/experiences. To feel a sense of direction in life. Embrace new perspectives. Be more open-minded. Feel more in control of life and acceptance to things that you just can't control. Therapy offers coping skills but another takeaway from working with me is to either learn or build critical thinking skills which is a life skill.
