Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 30 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and at-risk youth through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. As a former educator turned therapist, I bring both compassion and practical experience to my work. I provide evidence-based counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, stress, and life transitions. Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, stuck in painful patterns, or unsure how to move forward. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and offer both in-person and virtual therapy. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where you feel safe, understood, and encouraged as you heal, grow, and build confidence.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens in a safe and trusting relationship. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences, especially when anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, stress, or low self-worth are affecting daily life. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, to help process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, improve coping skills, and build a greater sense of stability and self-understanding. I value connection, compassion, and appropriate challenge, and I strive to create an environment where you feel supported while also encouraged to grow and make lasting progress.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where you can begin sharing what has been going on at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I take time to understand what brings you to therapy, whether that includes anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, stress, life changes, school or behavioral concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and discussing what kind of support may be most helpful moving forward. The first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for my style and decide whether I feel like the right fit. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the process ahead.
