Great to meet you!

Thank you for checking out my profile! I began counseling in 2011. My career started in community mental health, with clients who had been hospitalized, on probation or parole, or working with DFCS. Through this role, I was able to work with a variety of issues. I obtained my BS from Kennesaw State University and MS in Community Counseling from North Georgia University. I have worked with a variety of concerns such as lgbtq, mood, family & relationship issues, trauma, & many others.

My approach to therapy

My counseling style is catered towards the individual as I get to know them. I work in Person Centered, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I feel like learning mindfulness is an important skill for everyone. I believe that it is important to look at where you are in your life, and what it will take to move towards achieving your goals and finding your personal meaning. I believe in setting goals early and checking in often. Sessions are typically 53 minutes long.

What you can expect from me

You can expect from me cultural humility. You can expect me to use your chosen name, and your correct pronouns. You can expect to be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect for exactly who you are and where you are in your journey. You can expect to never be judged for anything you say or do. But also expect that I will call you out when needed, and I will ask you to do some challenging emotional work. In the end, as long as we're both doing our parts, it will be worth it.
