Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over 18 yrs of experience. I received my doctorate from CUNY Graduate School after obtaining a master's degree in Counseling with a community-based focus. I've worked in various settings with people from diverse backgrounds, but college student mental health was my first passion. I've worked in the counseling centers at John Jay College, UT Health Science Center, Princeton, and Cornell to name a few. I've also been a certified academic success coach. As a private practitioner, I've been able to broaden my scope of practice and have enjoyed working with adults of all ages and backgrounds, and I especially like working with individuals who are motivated to do the hard work of therapy, both in session and out.

My approach to therapy

My approach is best described as technically eclectic, relational, trauma-informed, insight-oriented, and empowering. I draw heavily on psychodynamic and attachment based theories. As such, fostering a supportive, trusting therapist-client relationship is important for the work we'll embark on.

What you can expect from me

The initial session is a time for us to get to know each other a bit better as a follow-up to the phone consultation. I also take this time to clarify any concerns or lingering question, which is especially important to those new to therapy. In general, it is my hope that clients leave sessions feeling seen/heard and with a greater capacity for introspection.
