Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Karin! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem, life stressors/transitions, and helping individuals grow into the best versions of themselves.

My background in education and experience living and working abroad have given me the opportunity to connect with people across diverse cultures, backgrounds, and age groups. These experiences have shaped how I approach therapy, fostering curiosity, flexibility, and an appreciation for each person's unique experiences and perspectives. I enjoy exploring different therapeutic approaches and have a passion for psychoeducation, providing clients with the knowledge and practical tools they can use to better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change.

I'm committed to continually growing as a clinician through ongoing education and specialized training. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a love of learning into my work, combining clinical knowledge with a genuine appreciation for each person's individuality.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized, balancing compassion with gentle challenges that encourage growth. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered therapy. Together, we'll work on building practical skills, understanding your emotional responses, and exploring the deeper patterns and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. I emphasize both cognitive and nervous system regulation, helping you move beyond simply managing symptoms toward building a life that aligns with your values and feels authentically yours.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss relevant aspects of your history, and identify what you'd like to gain from our work together. My priority is creating a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment where you can show up as you are, without pressure to share more than you're ready for. We'll begin identifying your strengths, challenges, and goals while discussing how we can tailor therapy to your individual needs. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we'll move at a pace that balances your sense of safety with meaningful progress.
