Great to meet you!

I’m Karina Smith, LCSW, founder of Bloom Haven Therapeutic Services❀. I specialize in working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions related to relationships, career shifts, and family dynamics. I also support individuals experiencing the lasting impact of trauma or feeling stuck in patterns that are difficult to break.

My work is grounded in EMDR, DBT-informed therapy, somatic approaches, CBT, and mindfulness-based practices. I’m also an advocate and serve on the PAIMI Council for Disability Rights Florida.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe therapy should meet you where you are and adapt to your unique needs, history, and goals.

I often integrate EMDR to help process distressing or stuck experiences, along with DBT-informed skills to support emotional regulation and somatic techniques to help increase mind-body awareness. I also draw from CBT and strengths-based approaches to help clients build insight and practical tools for everyday life.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model—therapy is tailored, flexible, and paced in a way that feels safe and supportive while also encouraging meaningful growth.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process.

You can expect a supportive, open space where you don’t need to have everything figured out. We’ll begin identifying your goals and discussing what approaches—such as EMDR, DBT-informed skills, or somatic work—may be helpful moving forward.

By the end of the first session, you should leave with a clearer sense of direction, an initial plan for treatment, and an understanding of how we can work together moving forward.
