Great to meet you!

Hello there, thanks for stopping by!

I’m Karina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. At the heart of my work is showing up as a real person first, and a therapist second. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and have over four years of experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults.

I focus on treating you, not just a diagnosis. Therapy with me is about understanding the whole person, your experiences, identity, strengths, and the things that feel heavy. I support clients navigating grief, trauma, stress, boundaries, and self-worth, always moving at a pace that feels supportive and safe.

As a Latina and first-generation professional, I know how meaningful it is to feel truly seen and understood in the therapy space. I’ve worked in both community health and private practice settings, and I now have the privilege of holding space in my own private practice.

If this is your first time in therapy, welcome. And if it isn’t and you’re looking for some guidance but aren’t quite sure where to begin, we can figure that out together.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, gentle, and supportive. I believe therapy works best when we’re working together, at your pace, and with space for both compassion and growth.

In my work, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused strategies to help you better understand patterns, build practical coping tools, and move toward meaningful change. My approach is also person-centered and culturally responsive, honoring your identity, values, and lived experiences as an essential part of the healing process.

I take a holistic view of therapy, recognizing that your emotional, mental, cultural, and life experiences are all connected. While I lead with warmth and care, I’m also honest and direct when something may be holding you back — always with your goals and well-being in mind.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is a space to slow down, breathe, and show up as you are. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you’re ready for.

We’ll spend time getting to know each other and talking about what brought you to therapy. I may ask gentle questions to better understand your experiences, goals, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You’re always welcome to ask questions or share what feels supportive for you.

You can expect a warm, collaborative conversation at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal in the first session is to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and supportive, especially if this is your first time in therapy.
