Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm Karla Salfran, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) candidate at Franklin University. My background in psychiatric and acute care nursing allows me to bring a compassionate, holistic perspective to mental health treatment.

I specialize in psychiatric evaluations and personalized medication management for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. As a bilingual provider fluent in English and Spanish, I am passionate about providing accessible, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based care.

I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and supported. My goal is to empower you to take an active role in your mental health journey and help you heal, grow, and thrive.

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care should be personalized, collaborative, and centered around your individual needs. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment, medication management when appropriate, and compassionate support to help you achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in your well-being.

I take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and work with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, preferences, and lifestyle. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms, while creating a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable discussing your mental health.

My goal is to empower you throughout your mental health journey, helping you heal, grow, and thrive.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and better understand your mental health needs. We will begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where we discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and treatment goals.

I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and asking questions. Together, we will explore treatment options, including medication management when appropriate, and develop a personalized care plan that aligns with your individual needs and goals.

My priority is to ensure you leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and confident about the next steps in your mental health journey.
