I'm Karlianne, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Francisco, seeing clients virtually across California and Florida. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship strain, identity questions, and sexual concerns, and I offer an authentic, humor-friendly space to figure out what you actually need.
I draw on existential psychology, acceptance and commitment therapy, DBT, and couples and family-systems approaches, including narrative and solution-focused work. With individuals, I'm highly humanistic and integrative to meet you where you're at to identify strengths and move towards goals aligned with your values. With couples and families, I work directly with how members communicate and understand each other, and how these dynamics serve and are served by the family system. I also work with LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, women navigating motherhood and identity, and anyone carrying grief, anxiety, or trauma, with a strength-based lens.
Your first session with me is about getting oriented: what brought you in, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping is different down the road. From there, sessions stay collaborative and client-centered, while still tracking progress and identifying growth edges. Clients often tell me they feel more grounded and aware of what's keeping them stuck in recurring patterns. I see clients virtually throughout California and Florida.
