Great to meet you!

Karlo A. Rivera Gonzalez is a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of experience in healthcare. His journey began in 2009 when he completed his Associate Degree in Nursing in Puerto Rico and started his career as a Registered Nurse. For nine years, Karlo worked in a psychiatric unit, gaining extensive experience managing various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, acute psychosis, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. He also utilized alternative treatments such as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) to enhance patient care.

In 2012, he furthered his education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and subsequently broadened his expertise by transitioning to radiology and nuclear medicine, a role he held until 2017. After relocating to Florida, Karlo took on a leadership position at a state prison, where he oversaw the infirmary and demonstrated his ability to perform in high-pressure environments.

In December 2024, he completed both his Master’s Degree at Walden University and his practicum, solidifying his commitment to the mental health profession. Currently, Karlo works in outpatient clinics and telehealth, where he is passionate about supporting patients with mental health conditions across the lifespan. He leverages his extensive knowledge and expertise to make a positive impact for those in his care.

His clinical focus includes managing complex psychiatric conditions and integrating holistic approaches and alternative therapies into treatment. Karlo believes in a patient-centered approach that emphasizes collaboration, empathy, and respect for each individual's unique experiences, aiming to empower patients to achieve optimal mental health and well-being.
