Great to meet you!

Motherhood can ask something of you that no one quite prepared you for. Maybe you're moving through pregnancy, a raw postpartum season, or the slower unraveling that can arrive months or even years after a baby — anxious underneath while you hold it all together on the outside. If you've been functioning beautifully and quietly coming undone, you're in the right place.

I'm Karolina, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I specialize in supporting women through the perinatal years — pregnancy, postpartum, matrescence, and the identity shifts that come with becoming a mother. My work centers on perinatal mood and anxiety, birth trauma, grief and loss, and the quiet overwhelm that even the most capable, high-achieving women carry.

I hold dual master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and in Sport & Exercise Science, along with certifications as a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and health coach. This means I bring evidence-based counseling together with the body — nervous system regulation, breathwork, movement, and somatic practice — because healing rarely happens from the neck up alone.

In our work together, we move at a pace that feels safe. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and clinically informed, with real room for you to be honest about how hard this actually is. You don't need to have it figured out, and you don't have to do it alone.

If any of this feels familiar, I'd be glad to connect.

My approach to therapy

I work especially well with high-achieving, Type-A women — the ones who are capable, accomplished, and used to holding everything together. From the outside, you're functioning beautifully. Underneath, you may be anxious, depleted, and quietly wondering why something that looks so manageable feels so hard. That contradiction isn't a flaw in you; it's often what happens when a nervous system that's been performing for years finally meets something it can't out-organize. I hold space for that without rushing you to fix it, and without asking you to perform your healing too.

Much of my work centers on perinatal mental health, attachment, and trauma-informed care. Together we might tend to perinatal anxiety or depression, process a difficult birth, or explore the identity shift of new motherhood — the profound, often disorienting becoming that unfolds as you grow into this version of yourself. Where it's clinically appropriate, I also weave in my background in movement, breath, and mind-body health to support your regulation between sessions.

Above all, we move at a pace that feels sustainable. There's no performance required here, and nothing you have to earn. My hope is that therapy becomes a place you can finally set the weight down and come home to yourself.

What you can expect from me

The first session is unhurried, and there's nothing you need to prepare or perform. Mostly, it's a chance for us to meet each other — for you to get a feel for how I work and whether it feels like the right fit, which matters more than anything we accomplish that day.

I'll ask about what brought you here and what's felt hardest lately, but always at your pace. You're welcome to share as much or as little as feels right; there's no requirement to have it all articulated, and tears, blank moments, and "I don't even know where to start" are all completely welcome. My job in that first hour is less to fix and more to understand — to begin to see the whole picture of what you're carrying.

We'll also start to name what you're hoping for. Some women arrive with something specific — postpartum anxiety, a birth that still feels unresolved, a sense of having lost themselves. Others just know something feels off. Either is enough to begin with. Together we'll shape a loose sense of direction, knowing it can evolve as we go.

Mostly, I hope you leave feeling a little more understood than when you arrived — with the sense that this is a place you can finally exhale, set the weight down, and be met exactly as you are.
