Great to meet you!

My name is Kashmita Prasad, but I prefer to be addressed as Kash. I received my Master's in Counseling Psychology in 2017 and have been working as a therapist since. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with nearly a decade of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions. I specialize in working with culturally diverse clients who are balancing personal needs with family expectations, identity, and cultural pressures.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. I create a space where you can be honest and feel understood, while also helping you challenge patterns that are no longer working.

I don’t just listen, I help you:

  • Understand your emotional and relational patterns
  • Build insight into anxiety, attachment, and past experiences
  • Learn practical tools to manage emotions and set boundaries
  • Make meaningful, lasting changes in your life

I tailor therapy to your needs, integrating evidence-based approaches while keeping the process grounded and applicable to your daily life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a clear direction for your therapy.

We will:

  • Talk about what’s bringing you in and what you’ve been struggling with
  • Explore your background, relationships, and current stressors
  • Identify initial goals for therapy
  • Answer any questions you may have about the process

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, understood, and supported while we begin creating a plan that works for you.
