Great to meet you!

Hello there, I'm Kate! I am your next best therapist and a school social worker who works with children, teens, and young adults. My professional background includes experience in schools, telehealth therapy, child welfare, and the criminal justice system, which has given me a broad understanding of the challenges individuals and families may face. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Social Work (MSW).

I am passionate about creating a supportive, neurodiversity-affirming environment where clients feel accepted, understood, and empowered. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, family conflict, academic stress, bullying, and life challenges. My goal is to help clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop tools to navigate life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I strive to create an open and welcoming space where clients can safely share their experiences, process challenges, and work toward meaningful change. I believe therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

I use a combination of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, empowerment-focused interventions, and strengths-based practices. Together, we focus on building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening communication, and finding practical solutions that support long-term growth.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, accepted, and supported. My first priority is building trust and helping clients feel comfortable being themselves. I use active listening, creativity, humor, and collaboration to create a positive therapeutic experience.

During the first session, we will talk about your goals, current challenges, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we will begin identifying practical steps toward growth, healing, and positive change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
