Great to meet you!

I am a mother, a partner in a bi-cultural household, the daughter of a single immigrant mom and currently a care provider to my aging parent, a political activist and a community development lead in a small Mexican town. I am continuously learning and growing in all of these roles. In my clinical work, I take advantage of readings, training opportunities and peer consultation on a weekly basis.

My approach to therapy

If we don't like something, let's take action to change it. If we can’t change it, let's change the way we think about it or how we cope with it.

What you can expect from me

I believe that change is constant, thus I keep the direction of therapy moving forward and avoid getting stuck in problem talk. The journey with each client begins by understanding the problems that they have brought to counseling and then we consider what will life be like when these problems are resolved as best they can be. We will also take a look at unhelpful thinking patterns that might be keeping us stuck in the problem.
