Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly two decades of clinical experience. I earned my graduate degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Graduate Institute and have worked primarily with adults across a wide range of life stages and emotional challenges. I often support individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in familiar patterns — particularly around anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, perfectionism, and major life transitions. Many of the clients I work with are high functioning on the outside but internally exhausted, self-critical, or disconnected from their own needs. Growing up in a military family also shaped my understanding of responsibility, structure, and the pressure to perform. This background has influenced my work with perfectionism, high self-expectations, and the tendency to “hold it together” at the expense of emotional well-being. I help clients soften rigid patterns while still honoring the strengths that have helped them survive and succeed. I also recognize the important role that pets and animals can play in emotional healing. Animals often provide comfort, regulation, and a steady sense of connection, especially during times of stress, grief, or loneliness. I welcome space in therapy to acknowledge these meaningful bonds as part of a client’s support system and overall well-being. My style is warm, thoughtful, and empowering. I value depth over speed and believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, respected, and supported in reconnecting with their own clarity, resilience, and inner authority.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic and relational, meaning I take into account the mind, body, and emotional life rather than focusing on thoughts alone. Therapy with me is not just talk-based; I pay close attention to nervous-system responses, emotional patterns, stress, and how lived experiences are held in the body. My goal is to help clients feel more regulated, grounded, and aligned from the inside out, supporting change that feels meaningful and sustainable.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and unhurried. We’ll spend time getting to know what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and you are always in control of what you choose to discuss.

I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your concerns, current stressors, and relevant background, while also paying attention to how your body and nervous system are responding in the moment. The first session is not about fixing or solving everything right away, but about building clarity, trust, and a sense of direction.

You can expect a collaborative and respectful conversation rather than an interrogation or checklist. I may offer reflections or gentle observations, and together we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas of focus. By the end of the session, most clients leave with a clearer understanding of how therapy can support them and what next steps might look like. My goal is for you to feel heard, grounded, and supported — and to leave the first session with a sense of relief, even if nothing feels “resolved” yet.
