Great to meet you!

I've been a therapist for about 30 years now. I love learning and training. I completed a 4-year certificate program at the National Institute in Psychotherapies where I learned many different theoretical and practical approaches. I trained and practiced in NYC, adding my Hudson Valley practice in 2005. I integrate past experience and trainings in substance abuse and find combining therapy with 12-step programs to be very effective. Motivational Interviewing informs all aspects of my practice.

My approach to therapy

I am certified with Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy approach to couple's therapy and continue to deepen these skills on a daily basis. This approach melds well with recovery work for substance abuse as well as interpersonal difficulties. I am a very active therapist who also listens well. I hold myself accountable for showing up in the best way possible moment-to-moment. I always am open to feedback from clients and want to hear about what is helping and what isn't.

What you can expect from me

Through our work, we’ll establish a partnership and I’ll offer guidance in "checking in" with yourself about your deepest concerns. I make suggestion of alternative behaviors for you to try between sessions. Our goal is awareness of the experience - if there is a blockage we can use experiential trauma work. I base my work heavily in RLT for both couples and individuals and am always looking to help people learn and implement "winning strategies" in their lives.
