Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kate Keach (she/her), a licensed clinical social worker offering trauma-informed IFS and compassion-focused therapy in Boulder, CO and virtually throughout Colorado and Massachusetts.

I founded Natural Compassion Counseling because I believe the most powerful form of healing comes from within—when we learn to uncover our innately calm and compassionate qualities of mind. And from there, then we meet our inner world with greater understanding and care.

I graduated from Simmons University in Boston, and have over a decade of experience working with adults in therapy. Among advanced trainings, I have completed Internal Family Systems level 1 training with Kay Gardner, Additional IFS Training with Frank Anderson, Rhythm of Regulation Polyvagal Training with Deb Dana, and Intensive Psychotherapy training from Windhorse Integrative Mental Health.

My approach to therapy

I offer a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Self-Compassion, and Somatic practices--which are modalities that go beyond talk therapy alone. Our work will help you create an embodied sense of well being and build a loving relationship with yourself so you can move through life with more clarity, self-compassion, and authenticity.

What you can expect from me

If you've tried traditional talk therapy before and are seeking something deeper—I offer an embodied, compassionate approach that nurtures safety from within.

I customize therapy based on the needs of each person. In general, though, I often lead a guided grounding exercise at the beginning of a session to help clients arrive and feel present in the moment. Then, I'll invite you to share whatever feels most alive for you in the moment, allowing the work to unfold naturally. Sessions often incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), self-compassion, and somatic approaches to healing that are aimed at deepening self-confidence and authenticity.

My therapeutic style is trauma-informed, warm, and collaborative. I’m not here to tell you what you “should” do, or assume I know what’s “best” for you. I’m here to help you turn inside and discover your way forward from a place of inner wisdom and strength.
