Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Katelyn.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a special focus on perinatal psychiatry and women's mental health. With a patient-centered approach, I aim to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, emphasizing the importance of understanding the complex interplay between past experiences and mental well-being.

Having graduated from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), I am deeply committed to ongoing professional growth and integrating the latest evidence-based practices into my care. I also place great value on cultural humility, recognizing the importance of understanding each person’s unique background, beliefs, and experiences in shaping their mental health journey. I strive to provide non-judgmental, compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

In my clinical practice, I have had the privilege of supporting women through some of life’s most challenging experiences, including counseling on abortion, infertility, pregnancy loss, and traumatic birth experiences. I am committed to walking alongside my patients as they navigate these deeply personal and often complex emotional journeys. By creating a space for open dialogue and healing, I help individuals process grief, loss, and trauma while promoting resilience and emotional well-being.

My mission is to support women through the challenges of mental health, particularly during the perinatal and postpartum period, when individuals face unique emotional and psychological demands. I work to empower my patients to reclaim their well-being, using an approach that honors their strengths and resilience.

My approach to therapy

Patient Empowerment:

Non-Judgment:

I meet each patient where they are, offering unconditional support and compassion, free from judgment, as they navigate their unique mental health experiences.

Inclusivity:

I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone—regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or background—feels respected, valued, and understood.

Cultural Sensitivity:

I approach every patient with deep respect for their cultural identity and context, ensuring that care is both culturally sensitive and empowering, honoring each person’s unique experiences and perspectives.

Trauma-Informed Care:

My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, acknowledging the profound impact that past trauma can have on an individual’s mental and emotional well-being. I prioritize creating a safe, supportive space where healing can begin.
