Great to meet you!

My name is Katelyn Lee. Originally from TN, my family and I moved to Lawrence County, IN in 2014. After being a stay-at-home mom for 7 years, I returned to school and graduated from Messiah University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After spending several years working in a clinic setting, I decided it was time to open my own practice. I provide individual counseling for adolescents and adults ages 13 and up. I specialize in trauma treatment and have experience treating a wide range of disorders, including neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, and OCD, and helping to support those in recovery from substance use. My goal is to offer quality care that is collaborative and trauma-informed, ensuring you feel safe and supported throughout your treatment.

A little bit about me personally: I'm an avid reader, baker, animal lover, and huge nerd. I'm trying to become a plant mom, but we'll see how that goes. I have 2 dogs and three cats, and am getting a tank ready for a betta fish. I love card games and am pretty good at solitaire. I love coffee and spending time with friends and family. I hope this helps in your decision-making while choosing a therapist. I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your path to healing.

My approach to therapy

My main approach to therapy is an integrative model of cognitive-behavioral and person-centered therapies. I believe our thoughts and emotions influence our behavior, and healing our core beliefs about ourselves can aid in improving our emotional reactivity and behaviors. I believe you know yourself best, and try to support you through genuineness and empathy throughout treatment. All of my approaches to treatment are through a trauma-informed lens. My top priority is to ensure you feel safe and supported in treatment. We look at what happened in your past that could have influenced how you view the world now, but we don't stay there. I fully collaborate with you throughout the treatment process to promote your autonomy and support your choice in every step. This is your therapy, - I'm here to help you. As a trained provider of EMDR, I use this treatment to help process traumatic events and issues/emotions that have felt stuck or continue to be triggering.

What you can expect from me

In my sessions, my goal is to always ensure you feel safe and heard. I work collaboratively with clients, ensuring you have a voice in your treatment and your autonomy is prioritized. This is your space. I do my best to ensure your safety and freedom to be yourself in session. Working together, we'll identify what you're wanting to accomplish through treatment. Once identified, I'll explain initial steps to help reach that goal. As we work together, I'll continue to inform you on treatment direction for continued collaboration. Goals are flexible- as we move through treatment, something may come up that takes priority. I will never force you to participate in something you don't want to do, even if it was the plan from last session. You have control. Healing is a path, not a destination, and I'm here to walk with you.
