My approach to therapy

My style is engaged, thoughtful, and direct, with warmth and respect for the courage it takes to begin this work. For PTSD, I use EMDR (trained by the EMDR Institute in a Gold Standard EMDR) and CPT (see me on the CPT provide roster). I also use CBT, ACT, and DBT, often integrating mindfulness and body awareness when helpful. We will work together to understand the deeper patterns behind your struggles, then use practical tools to change how you respond to them. As therapy progresses, I will help you step outside of your comfort zone, practice new behaviors, build resilience, and move toward a life guided by your values and sense of purpose.

Years before becoming a psychologist, I used these methods for deep transformation and improved my life in many ways. When seeing my progress, my friends started asking advice about their own psychological concerns, I realized I want to be a psychologist. Because of this, I don’t just teach these tools — I have lived them.

What you can expect from me

You can expect our work to begin with a thoughtful and thorough understanding of who you are, what you are struggling with, and what you want to change. I will ask questions that help us see the full picture: your symptoms, history, values, strengths, patterns, and hopes for your life. As we build that understanding, we will also begin identifying small but meaningful steps you can take to experience change early in the process. My goal is for therapy to feel focused, active, and useful, with goals that can be revisited and adjusted as you grow.
