Great to meet you!

I’m Katesha Ford, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Master of Science in Community Agency Counseling from Jacksonville State University and have spent my career helping adolescents and adults navigate some of life’s more difficult seasons.

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use, and relationship challenges, including the lasting effects of emotional and physical abuse. My approach combines experience with genuine connection. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself in therapy. I use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, person-centered, and strengths-based approaches to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns, and develop practical tools that support meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, and collaborative, but I also believe in being honest and helping you challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I don’t believe therapy should feel the same for everyone, so I adjust my approach based on your needs, personality, and goals. Using CBT, Motivational Interviewing, person-centered, and strengths-based techniques, we’ll work together to understand what’s beneath the surface, build practical coping skills, and create changes that feel realistic for your life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about getting to know you; not rushing to “fix” anything. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to be different. You can expect a comfortable, judgment-free conversation where you don’t have to have everything figured out. By the end, we’ll begin identifying your goals and what moving forward could look like for you.
