Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Kat! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with experience working with individuals, families, and groups navigating a wide range of mental health concerns and addictions. I earned my Master’s degree from William & Mary in 2014 and my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2019.

My approach to therapy

My approach is wellness-based, focusing not on what is “wrong” with a person but on what may no longer be serving them. Together, we identify what isn’t working and explore ways to make meaningful adjustments that foster a fulfilling and liberated life—whatever that uniquely means to you. I believe that healing occurs within relationships and that no one is immune to the systemic injustices embedded in our society. Too often, people are pathologized for responding naturally to stressors and oppressive systems. I recognize that my own learning is ongoing, and I approach every therapeutic relationship as a collaborative partnership. You are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you rediscover the strengths and wisdom that already exist within you.

What you can expect from me

I maintain a collaborative stance with my clients, recognizing that they already possess the skills and strengths needed to create meaningful change in their lives. My primary goal is to ensure that we are working together toward the agenda and goals you set. Because therapy is a collaborative process, I routinely check in to gather your thoughts on how therapy is going so that I can make adjustments to best support your growth. While I offer feedback and observations from my perspective, I also invite your feedback to ensure that our work remains responsive to your needs. Every client is different, and as such, each therapeutic process is uniquely tailored to the individual.
