Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Katherine, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. I work with adolescents, adults and couples who are navigating anxiety, stress and burnout, relationship concerns, trauma, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative, and I use a variety of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to help each client feel comfortable and supported in the therapy process. My goal is to create a space where you can be your authentic self, feel genuinely heard, and work toward the changes that matter most to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized, because I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I work with clients to better understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be contributing to their current struggles while developing practical tools for creating meaningful change. I integrate approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, IFS, narrative therapy, somatic techniques, and Gottman-informed concepts based on each client’s needs and goals. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported while also being encouraged to challenge themselves and grow.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, welcomed, and hopefully a little lighter after having a space to talk openly about what you’ve been carrying. We’ll spend time getting to know you, your experiences, and what brought you to therapy through conversation, while creating a space where you can be yourself and share at your own pace. We’ll begin exploring your intentions for therapy, understanding that it can take time to identify what you truly need and that those intentions/goals may evolve as we get to know each other. Most importantly, I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and confident that therapy can be a safe and open space for you.
