Great to meet you!

Nice to meet you! My name is Katherine and I am an LICSW. I earned my MSW from Marshall University after spending several years away from my home state of West Virginia while I was studying for my undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

My approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach to providing therapy which involves utilizing a variety of different, though complementary, therapeutic modalities. As therapy is not a "one size fits all" model, this more personalized approach serves to safeguard against rigidity in the therapeutic framework, fostering greater opportunity for self-reflection, inner growth, heightened emotional intelligence, and other such skills building.

What you can expect from me

First sessions with me are centered around rapport-building while simultaneously collecting your history. While I will certainly ask you a handful of rather personal questions fairly early on, therapy right . . . I assure you there is never an incorrect answer. One's response could be anything from "I don't know right now" to opting not to answer a question entirely if it feels rushed in nature. I will be asking serious questions, but the goal is never to leave you feeling emotionally bruised following therapy.
