Katherine Liokis

Katherine Liokis, LCSW-BACS has been a practitioner of social work for 20 years.

Originally from Virginia, Katherine obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work degree from Christopher Newport University. She relocated to New Orleans and attended Tulane University, where she acquired a Master of Social Work degree. She is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Katherine worked as an administrator at various inpatient and outpatient behavioral health facilities, as well as private practice work. This experience, in conjunction with dedication to help others, makes her a valuable and credible therapist.

I take a person-centered approach where I collaborate with clients to identify and enlist their internal strengths and resources to approach life's challenges. I cater my clinical approach to each client's individual therapeutic needs to create an environment where growth, change, and healing occur.

I enjoy working with women, families, and adults of a wide range of ages. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance and alcohol use, mood disorders, thought disorders, and more. I welcome LGBTQ+ clients.

Generally, my first sessions are a chance for us to get to know each other. I want to observe and listen to get an understanding of the client's reason for seeking therapy and the goals they want to achieve from our sessions. I want my clients to be in control of the sessions where they can feel open and honest to discuss anything with me.
